Prerequisites to setting up Jaspersoft Studio Professional:
- Installation of Tibco Jaspersoft Studio Professional 6.4.2.1; and
- Installation of the Jaspersoft Studio Professional License.
Before using Jaspersoft Studio Professional to create or design reports, you must perform the following tasks:
- Create the database connection.
- Create the JasperReports Server Repository connection.
- Install an SSL certificate on the Jaspersoft Studio Professional application host.
Perform the above steps for every installation of Jaspersoft Studio Professional.
Creating a User in JasperReports Server
To create a user on your JasperReports Server, set up the connection between Jaspersoft Studio Professional and the JasperReports Server.
To create a user on the JasperReports Server:
Open a browser and enter the following URL to launch the JasperReports Server in standalone mode.
http://<localhost>:8480/jasperserver-pro/login.html
When the Jaspersoft login page appears, enter User ID sysadmin and Password agiliance.
Go to Manage > Users, then click Add User.
Enter the user information in the following fields: User name, User ID, Email, Password, and Confirm Password. Click Add User to.
Click Edit and scroll down to view the Roles Available section.
Click the ROLE_POWERUSER role.
Click >> to move the role into the Role Assigned section, then click Save.
Database Configuration
You must establish communication between Jaspersoft Studio Professional and the RiskVision database if they are not installed on the same host server.
MySQL database:
Run the following MySQL command to provide access to the database server. By default, both the user name and password are "agiliance".
> grant all on *.* to 'agiliance'@'<ip_address>' identified by 'agiliance' with grant option;
> grant all on *.* to 'root'@'<ip_address>' identified by 'agiliance' with grant option;
> flush privileges;
Oracle database:
- Install and configure the Oracle Client version 12.2.0.1 then go to the
%ORACLE_HOME%\app\network\admin directory
to open thetnsnames.ora
file using a text editor. - Locate the database name used by the RiskVision Server and change the host to point the Oracle server.
